Privacy Policy
SGFloorFinder ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Atanium Corporation. This policy explains what personal data we collect from homeowners and other individuals who use this site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
SGFloorFinder is independently run. It is not a government service and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, BCA, HDB, or any government agency. The contractor directory is built from publicly available government registry data (see "Contractors: your listing" below).
1Who this policy covers
This policy covers personal data of individuals — for example, a homeowner who requests a flooring quote or books a showroom visit.
It does not apply to the business contact information of contractors listed in our directory. That information (company name, registration numbers, workheads, business address and phone) comes from open government datasets published under the Singapore Open Data Licence and is business, not personal, data. Contractors who wish to correct or remove their free listing can do so — see "Contractors: your listing" below.
2What personal data we collect
We only collect personal data that you choose to give us. We do not buy contact lists, and we do not scrape personal data.
When you request a quote, book a visit, or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number and/or email address
- Details about your project that you enter (property type, floor area, material interest, what you need)
- The reference code generated for your request
- Your marketing consent choices and the exact consent wording shown to you, together with the date and time you gave them
- Basic technical information needed to run the site securely
3Why we collect it, and our legal basis
We use your personal data to:
- Generate your estimate and issue a reference code for your request;
- Pass your request to the party you chose — the contractor whose profile you requested a quote from, or the showroom you asked to visit — so they can follow up (see Section 4);
- Contact you about that specific request (this is contact you asked for, not marketing);
- Send you marketing about flooring offers, price updates and renovation tips — only if you ticked the relevant consent box. Marketing boxes are unticked by default; ticking them is optional and only controls marketing.
We rely on your consent, and on the PDPA's provisions permitting use of data to fulfil a request you have made.
4Who we share your data with
This is the most important thing to understand about how the site works: when you request a quote from a contractor, your name and contact details and your request are sent to that contractor so they can respond to you. That is the purpose of the request. Similarly, if you book a showroom visit, your details are shared with that showroom to arrange it.
We also use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — for example, our database hosting and our email-delivery provider. These providers may only use your data to provide their service to us, under terms consistent with the PDPA.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with anyone else except as described here or where required by law.
5Consent, and how to withdraw it
Marketing consent is per channel (email; SMS/WhatsApp) and unticked by default. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or by contacting us (Section 12). Withdrawing marketing consent will stop marketing but will not affect our ability to contact you about a request you have already made.
6Phone, SMS and WhatsApp marketing (DNC)
We will not send you marketing by SMS, WhatsApp or voice call to a Singapore number unless we have first screened it against the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry, or you have given us clear consent to be contacted on that channel. We will never send marketing on these channels in a way that bypasses this.
7How long we keep your data
We keep the record of your request for as long as needed to fulfil it and to keep proper business and accounting records, for up to 3 years.
If you withdraw consent or ask us to stop using your personal data, we will remove you from all marketing and stop using your personal data for any other purpose. We may retain a limited record of your request where permitted or required for legitimate business, accounting or legal purposes.
8Where your data is stored and transferred
Your data is stored in a database hosted in the Singapore region. Some of our service providers (for example, email delivery) may process data outside Singapore. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your data is afforded a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, consistent with the Transfer Limitation Obligation — including relying on the provider's data-processing terms.
9Your rights under the PDPA
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and information on how it has been used;
- Correct any personal data that is inaccurate;
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time (Section 5).
To exercise any of these, contact us (Section 12). We will respond within a reasonable time as required by the PDPA. We may need to verify your identity first.
10How we protect your data
We use access controls and row-level security, store data in the Singapore region, and restrict internal access to those who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data against unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
11Cookies and analytics
We use only essential cookies needed to run the site. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
12Contact us / Data Protection Officer
For any privacy question, request, or complaint, contact our Data Protection Officer:
- The Data Protection Officer
- Email: notify@sgfloorfinder.com
We will do our best to resolve your concern. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) of Singapore.
13Contractors: your listing
If you are a contractor and your firm appears in our free directory, that listing is built from public government registry data. You may request correction or removal of your free profile, which we honour within 7 days. Paid (Pro/Pro+) pages belong to the subscriber.
14Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
